  1. In my experience ive found nurses to be so caring they give excellent quality of care i believe people can be harsh when hospitals get busy and nurse take the fall for this ive never had anything bad to say only good

  2. My Dear Dear Grand Mother was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and very quickly faded and past. Much too quickly. With in a week she was in the Jockey Hospice on the Curragh in Kildare. We we’re devastated as a family as Granny went down hill fast. However the staff at the hospice were just super there was one nurse there unfortunately due to the grief I guess, I can not remember her name. Only that she had brown short hair and the most genuine and sincere smile. This nurse was very good to my Gran and us her family hospitable and understanding. I think nurses and care staff in hospices are really to be applauded and respected for the care and kindness they bring to our loved ones last journey.

  3. Thanks to all of the nurses that work so hard and so selflessly in order to get people back on their feet. They deserve far more credit than they get and are daily making a real difference in peoples lives. Keep up the good work.

  4. I’d like to thank you nurse Lorraine in Limerick regional hospital (5B). The way she treats people is unbelievable and i wish that there could be more nurses like her. Moreover she is very good looking which made talking to her so much more easier. 🙂 But yeah im glad that there are nurses like Lorraine ( sorry can’t remember her surname 😦 )

  5. A big thank you has to go out to all the amazing nurses in Our Lady’s Hospice in Harolds Cross. A dear friend of mine passed away at the start of this year. And right up to the end the wonderful nurses made her smile and made her comfortable. All the family and friends agreed that the nurses helped Helen and themselves through that difficult time. So THANK YOU!!

  6. Nurses are the front line staff in our every day lives! The backbone to the People like me and you and also to the medical profession. I could write about my story, but why would I each and every single human being who has had a medical issue in any way shape or forum, get treated by Nurses! We all should appreciate the delicate job they need to do in our to help us make us get back in action and fighting another day! ❤

  7. Just like to say thanks to the nurses in Tallaght hospital for lookin after my da when he was very sick they done a great job he wouldn’t be here only for them 🙂

  8. Thanks to all the nurses in St. James hospital for their kindness when looking after my nana. They were always so nice to her and my family.

  9. I would like to thank all the Nurses in Tallaght Hospital and the hospice in harolds cross. Where my Gran was cared for before she passed away. They have a very hard job to do. They really do not get enough thanks for all there work.

  10. Nurses are a sector that don’t get enough praise for the great work that they do on a daily basis. I would like to thank nurses worldwide for the hard work that they put in to make peoples’ lives that bit better.

  11. Thanks for all te hard work throughout the whole country!! We’ll all be lost (or very ill) without you.

  12. When my dad was dying of cancer, it was the nurses kindness and empathy that really helped him. More than any doctors or consultants, nurses are there when patients need them, at any hour of the day or night. My family and I were all so grateful for their compassion and helpfulness.

  13. I wish to express my sincere thanks and if I’m perfectly honest my ‘love’ if I can say that for breast care nurse Yvonne Bohane in CUH. She quite simply was my guardian angel through my breast cancer experience Yvonne there is a path straight to heaven for you xxxxx Niamh

  14. I am thankful for all the nurses in st Vincent’s hospital when my grandad passed away, all the nurses were brilliant with my family, very considerate and made the horrible situation best that it can be.

  15. My nanny was admitted to James’ hospital for 10 days and while she was there numerous amounts of tests had to be carried out as the doctors weren’t sure what was wrong with her. While she was there the nurses went out of their way to make sure she was happy, not only did they help her they also helped my family get in contact with the various doctors
and consultants so we could find out what was
happening with her.The nurses really went up and beyond their call of duty.

  16. I would like to thank the nurses and doctors in Tallaght hospital for looking after my dad after he had surgery, they very extremely helpful and very kind to our family.

  17. I will never forget what the nurses did for me and my family when my mam passed away and also the nurses that have been there through illnesses that I have had. I admire all the work they put in every day of the week and the difference they make to people’s lives. It is a wonderful gift they have to be compassionate, caring and patient among other things. All the little things will never be forgotten and I will be eternally grateful to all of you.

  18. I would like to thank in particular all the nurses in St. James Hospital who were so helpful and kind whilst looking after my mam when she fell very ill during her battle with breast cancer. They became her friends as well as her carers and made her stay there a lot easier to cope with.
I would also like to thank all the nurses who have looked after other family members when they have became ill in the past.
I have a very close friend who is a recent graduate and I admire the work she does each and everyday. It is a such a challenging job and I feel nurses all over the country should receive more praise and thanks for the work they do as they are most certainly the bones of the Healthcare system in Ireland.

  19. I had my wisdom teeth taken out under G.A., quite a number of years ago now. When I woke up in the Recovery Room, I realised that I was thrashing around in the bed in such pain that I couldn’t think straight, didn’t know where I was, and couldn’t articulate it. I am a nurse myself and in a brief moment of remembering this I looked up at the monitor where my BP was through the roof. Then I realised that one nurse was practically lying across me to prevent me from injury during the thrashing and another recovery nurse was arriving with a painkilling injection, which she gave me at the speed of light. As soon as the pain (and my BP!) subsided and I had got my senses back, I thanked her for the painkiller. She explained that she had always remembered the nurse who gave her painkillers quickly after her own Caesarian Section so she had vowed to always watch out for semi-conscious patients who were in pain but couldn’t say so. I think of her often. God bless her and her compassion.

  20. I think nurses are fantastic. When in James,Luke’s and Tallaght I had the pleasure of being cared for by these wonderful people who worked so bloody hard. Thanks to all of you.

  21. I would like to thanks all my nurses’ friends who are the best supporters in the world. They understand you without words. I like to thanks also Nurse Jobs Ireland for a wonderful day they organised for us. I have never felt that honoured and appreciated.

  22. Thanks to nurses everywhere for their kindness care and understanding shown
    to patients and their families

    Therese

  23. Its wonderful to see the way your company honours our unsung hero’s, comforters and counsellors. They work so tirelessly, and often thankless. thank you for the opportunity to say my thanks to all nurses for their dedication, experience, and presence, when I or those I love are sick

  24. I have to give thanks to the Nurses who have been there all my life, most of my life and at the harder stages of my life. My three fabulous Nurse aunts who have been there for me all my life. My Nurse friends who have been there for me most of my life … i.e. for as long as we’ve known each other … and finally those who cared for both my Grannies when they were sick at a hard stage in my life …a sad stage. All caring qualities that bring so much to our lives

  25. Not only for the duties performed, the comforts given, and the patience exemplified, are they everyone’s favourite heroes.
But perhaps even more so for the resilience, the humanity, and the discipline, in the face of horrible injury, or immobilising fear, or dreadful pain, when practical solutions, cool heads, and warm hearts, are needed, and a determination to deal with the situation and see the crisis through.
Courage and selflessness are often regarded by the passing generations as qualities of the past.
In a world which bemoans the rise and rise of greed and envy and malice, let your mind dwell on those who have taken up the cudgel of Florence Nightingale, who have followed in the steps of the Roses of No Man’s Land, from the First World War, and heeded the never ending cry of the afflicted.
Then have your Faith in Mankind repaired, reinforced and forever restored.

  26. I am thankful for nurses and all of the hard work they do day-in day-out. Many times they have looked after my family members and shown and shown great care and compassion to me and my family. For this I am truly grateful.

  27. When I had a miscarriage, when all was confirmed, said and done, some of the doctors were quite cold and matter of fact like. I ll never forget the nurse that looked after me, she was the total opposite of all of them, she did way more than her job she was a real angel that even cried with me, conforted me and gave me the most sound advice no doctor ever did.It was a joy to be able to see her again in a total different situation a year later when I was there to give birth to my baby girl. Was very happy to be able to see her again and this time around property thank her!

  28. Thank you to the nursing teams at St. Vincent’s Private & Tallaght Hospitals who took care of me some years ago now. Their care and support when your feeling so vulnerable and delicate makes such a difference to our life’s. Its wonderful to be able to say “Thank you” on a forum like this.

A BIG thank you to those Nurses who are taking care of my sisters in Waterford and Cork presently. You smiles and professional care makes a difference not only to those in your direct care but also to the family’s who sometimes watch on the sideline feeling helpless. Well done for your courage and commitment to the profession. Great Health and Happiness to you all.

  31. I would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors in Tallaght Hospital who took care of my daughter when she was ill

  32. I would like to thank the nursing staff in the Merlin Park Hospital in Galway city who took care of my grandmother in 1994 when she died of Alzeimhers. My father was very upset and they took the time to talk my dad through this heart renching and horrible disease. We live beside the hospital and they were very accommodating on visiting my grandmother until she passed away in July of that year. Also I would like to thank Manchester General Hospital nursing staff who saved my brothers life when he had an allergic reaction to fish at my cousins wedding 3 years ago. My parents were very scared and they calmed us down and took care of him throughout the night. Thank you so much! 🙂

  33. I would like to thank all the staff and nurses in Blanchardstown Hospital, who looked after my father when he was ill. I am very grateful for their support. Also the staff in St. Pappins Nursing Home, they were fabulous.

  34. I would like to thank the Nurses, Doctor & Priest in St.Frances Hospice for the help and support looking after my mother Margaret before she passed away 8 years ago. The day care is amazing and my mother loved the company there.

  35. I would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff in Wexford General Hospital who looked after my grandmother when she she took ill, I drove down from Dublin and they kept her company until I arrived. When we knew she wasn’t going to make it, the nurse told us my nanny was knocking on Heavens door, I thought it was a lovely thing to say and we all apprciated all their support and help.

  36. So firstly I have two aunts who are nurses and I remember the excitement of when my aunt would be returning from her training in the UK and how proud my nan was about her daughter becoming a nurse, so lets just say that nursing has always been a very cherished and honored profession in my view and that of my family. The first time I got to experience an adult paying gratitude to this unknown nurse (an Every Day Hero) was in the description my mam made about the lovely, kind and gentle nurses that looked after my brother when he was in Crumlin Children’s Hospital in the early 1980’s – ‘only for the nurses we would have been lost’ So to all the lovely, kind, gentle and direction giving nurses in Crumlin thank you for looking after my brother all those years ago & thank you for the support you gave my mam

  37. When my Grandad was really ill in Cherry Orchard Hospital the nurses there treated him as if he was there Grandad. They showed so much care and respect to him and to us. At his funeral I remember seeing the nurses and they were crying they had gotten very attached to my Grandad and to us his Family. I will never forget how wonderful the nurses were and I am eternally grateful to them.

    1. My niece was in hospital recently with meningitis and the nurses cared for her with love and facilitated my sister in law to stay at her bedside. We all will be internally grateful for the care and empathy that they showed towards my family.
