Where to begin? I’ve worked with some spectacular nurses, and I’ve been cared for by countless more, in both St. Columcilles and St. Vincent’s. What nurses do is incredible.
I’m particularly grateful to Georgina O for going above and beyond to help me.
being a volunteer first responder I obviously have a big appreciation for nurses and what they do especially during the pandemic, they are the unsung heroes of the emergency medical/general medical field, thank you all for what you do to help the community ❤

A big thanks and huge appreciation to Linchu, Ger, Cristine, Caroline, Mary, Helena and Linda in oncology day ward at naas hospital. The care at naas hospital from all the staff has been fantastic, but these ladies are amazing! They welcome each and every patient with a smile, they laugh, chat , joke….they know how to put a positive spin on chemo treatment and I always leave appointments feeling positive, happy and in a good mood! Thanks for everything 😊💕
I had surgery in Mullingar Hospital in October 2025. Things were not as straight forward as they had first appeared to be and things didn’t go at all to plan. I was in hospital for 5 nights. During this time I experienced the exceptional kindness and care of the nurses on the Gynea ward. I want to thank them all but a special “Thank You” to Ceppie who looked after me when I was at my lowest. The care she gave me was second to none and I will be eternally grateful to her for holding my hand at the scariest time of my life. Keep up the good work ladies. You don’t get half the recognition that you deserve.

Recently, in St Vincent’s Hospital, I was transferred from ED to St Andrews Ward to stay on a trolley in the corridor. The staff there were amazing and could not have done enough – especially Sid/Sean, Ed & Ciara. They introduced themselves, reassured me that I was safe, if I needed anything, just call.
I had a great view of how they treated their patients from the CNM, to staff nurses and catering staff.
They were fantastic with all their patients, no ask was to big or to small and they were engaging.
Kudos to St Vincent’s Hospital, AMU Nurse Practitioner Aisling. I was recently diagnosed with an excessive blood clot, Aisling was open to all my questions and gave me her best & future knowledge.
I felt seen by Aisling and not overlooked, she instilled confidence in my day to day life tasks.

I’ll never forget when my little sister told us she’d done CPR for the first time when she started working in a hospital. Thank you to her and all the other nurses like Lea who demonstrate compassion, perseverance, and care when people need it the most.
Thank you to all of the nurses. Because of you we live in a happier and healthier world.
I have so much admiration for nurses, not only for their medical skills but for their kindness and humanity. I’ve seen how much of a difference those small, caring moments can make. I remember when my grandfather had surgery and was feeling scared and emotional — a nurse bent the rules so both his granddaughters could go in and comfort him. Another time, when my sister was in labor during COVID and couldn’t have anyone with her, a nurse quietly let me in for five minutes because she knew how much she needed it.
These moments might seem small, but they mean everything. They show that nursing is not just a profession, but a deeply human act of care, empathy and compassion.
Thank you to all the incredible nurses for going beyond what’s expected and for making such a difference in people’s lives every single day!!
